Our Office

Sleeper Media’s office was redesigned by award-winning creative studio NoChintz in 2017, creating a relaxed and sociable co-working concept with modern elements that encourage conversations between team members, while also being sympathetic to the building’s history. The open-plan space includes a large kitchen, formal and informal meeting areas, ergonomic workstations, comfortable breakout spaces and bespoke wall units displaying some of our favourite coffee-table books.

Our contemporary office also incorporates ergonomic furniture by The Senator Group, energy-efficient Castrads cast-iron radiators, gloss subway tiles by Johnson Tiles, lighting by Muuto, flooring by Desso, a kitchen by Gemini Kitchens and a Zip Hydro Tap serving up pure-tasting boiled and chilled water. Meanwhile, the building’s past is subtly referenced through features closely associated with the Madchester music scene and legendary nightclub The Hacienda, such as the bold striped pattern on the carpet, and the use of yellow accents in the lighting, noticeboards and personal storage lockers.

Strawberry Studios

We’re based in the iconic Strawberry Studios, one of the UK’s first professional recording studios outside London. Taking its name from the Beatles’ classic Strawberry Fields Forever, our building was once home to the band 10cc. It’s where The Stone Roses and The Smiths recorded, and yes where St Winifred’s School Choir told their grandmas they loved her, and has been used by countless artists down the years including Sir Paul McCartney, Leonard Cohen, The Ramones, Grace Jones, Buzzcocks, Joy Division and New Order.

The property served as recording studios from 1968 to 1993 before being converted into offices, although several original features from that period remain to this day. Recognising its unique role in the development of Manchester’s music scene, our building was even awarded a blue plaque in 2007.
